A glass-fronted building attached to an old prison houses the city’s major art gallery. Musée National des Beaux-Arts du Québec displays work by established Québec artists.

In a 19th-century mansion along Grand Allée, Les Peintres Québecois sells work by established Québec artists. Within the Old City, the Musée d’Art Inuit Brousseau specializes in Inuit sculpture and art. Fairmont Le Chateau Frontenac has two galleries. On tiny rue Tresor, local artists hang scenes of Québec.

Between Lower Town’s boutiques and antique shops are several galleries. Galerie d’art Alain Lacaze displays his city scenes. Meduse, the artists’ co-op in St-Roch exhibits more avante-garde work.
